5 Favorite Thanksgiving Table Decorations

Hello November. Here come the holidays! It’s absolutely my favorite time of the year as I’m sure it is for many of you too. It’s the time of year when my family comes home and we all get to be together again. Having two in college is still an adjustment.

Five Favorite Thanksgiving Table Decorations

How do you create a table setting to make your guests feel welcome, and also excited to sit down at the table for delicious food and conversation? Just because you are gathering in the dining rom, your party does not have to be stuffy. Incorporate any of these 5 favorite Thanksgiving table decorations and make it a special and memorable holiday gathering.

1 Colorful and Fun Table Runners:
If you are using white china, it’s fun to add a pop of color with your tablecloth. You can also add a printed table runner and there are so many great ones out there now. I’m loving the purple and gold colors paired with the orange small pumpkins in Shannon’s Thanksgiving table setting. View her home tour for more of her ideas.

2 Table Jewelry – Feathers and Candles
Don’t stop at the traditional two candlesticks on either side of your centerpiece. Create several groupings of candlesticks and place festive votives all around. Also, dress up each place setting with something unexpected. These peacock feathers steal the show! {image via HGTV}

3 Cake Stands as Props
As you can see below, I’ve used our cake stand for the apple and boxwood topiary centerpiece. Some years I leave it on the sideboard and other times I use it as the centerpiece of the table. Either way, it’s always a hit, and very easy to make. Get the DIY directions and make your own.

4 Stack ‘Em High
Don’t forget the chargers. I love Jennifer’s table setting with stacked dinnerware on top of a shiny gold charger. This Thanksgiving table has it all! I’m in awe of her fabulous centerpiece {again with the peacock feathers} and colorful mix and match table runners. Perfection. {image: Dimples and Tangles}

5 Food as Decoration
Last but not least, this Thanksgiving centerpiece idea using green vegetable wrapped candles is fresh and inviting. I may try this one this year, so stay tuned! {image: BHG}
