Bachelor Pad To Newlywed Home

Meet Anne Stewart and Brian Blaylock! Married just last year, Anne Stewart has been a busy bee transforming Brian’s bachelor pad into a stylish and comfortable home for two. It’s no surprise that I absolutely love her decorating style. Her talent obviously runs in the family (I’m sure you have already drooled over her sister’s home and mother’s home). Nestled in the historic fan district of Richmond, their newlywed home is full of character and one they can both call their own.

Dining Room

Can we talk please? How dynamic is this dining room with Chinese Red walls, gold accents and the showstopper black drum pendant? Anne Stewart is not afraid to mix and match with old and new. This room shines with modern gold accents mixed with tried and true silver family heirlooms. Also, the blue and white footed soup tureen as the centerpiece is spectacular.

The natural light bounces off the shiny silver candlesticks and mirrors making this room sparkle.

Living Room

The dining room flows effortlessly into the family room with the continuing contrast of black and white color. How cool is the idea of placing smaller plates under a large mirror? Love it. Over on the other side, you’ll see the fab built in bookshelves. Anne Stewart thinks of every detail, down to the chic agate knobs. I need these.

Hallway and Kitchen Area

Narrow hallways and small kitchen areas are typical in Richmond Fan homes. Anne Stewart conquered the decorating challenge in the hallway with this gorgeous long console table. A simple display of silver candlesticks and fresh hydrangeas in a glass vase is perfection.

And as you can see, they have made the most of a small space with this kitchen island doubling as their table. It’s the perfect piece with a hardwood butcher block top and slotted shelves. With little to no storage space, they added this green armoire which adds character in addition to function. Voila!

Champagne and strawberries are always a good idea! Thanks so much Anne Stewart and Brian for inviting us into your lovely home. I’m truly inspired to see how you’ve transformed each room in such little time. Congrats on your marriage and best of luck to the both of you.
