There is nothing quite like dining al fresco in the Summer. If you can keep the bugs away, the fresh air (especially an ocean breeze) turns a so-so dinner into a great one. We took these photos before one of our outdoor family dinners in Boca. It was such a great night. We sat around the picnic bench, ate, laughed and hung out for hours.
As far as the table prep goes, we like to dress it up a bit. In addition to the food, we fill the table with fresh flowers and candles. Glass hurricanes keep the candles lit. Another fun way to use our glass hurricanes, is to fill them with colorful lemons and limes.
We add small votives and sea grape leaves to each place setting. A simple menu of grilled chicken, rice and vegetables, with fresh fruit and bread is what’s for dinner. Keep it simple and leave the stress behind.
