I am thrilled to share with you Niki and Bradley Davidson’s newly renovated space. This uber chic office is refreshing and calming with classic appeal, complete with dramatic dark gray custom built-ins as the backdrop. Read the interview {and resource list} with Niki after the jump.

A Stylish Home Office : Interview with Niki
What was this space used for before your office renovation? “The room was originally a bedroom in the 50’s ranch when we purchased it. This portion of the house retained it’s original footprint even when we tackled the first round of renovating and adding on to creating a 2-story updated structure. After several years of living with the remaining original space, we realized the room would never be utilized as a bedroom. We decided to open it to the front entrance and living room and create the new office. I believe the built-ins and design allow the room to serve several purposes in the future.”

I love the soft glow in the ceiling color? What made you choose pink? “Recently I have been incorporating color on the ceilings and in this case I felt the pink added warmth to the overall cool room color.”

Tell us about your fun storage project you found on Pinterest.
“It is important for me to have ample file storage; however, I do not like seeing tall file cabinets, so when I found a filing trunk project on Pinterest it was a perfect fit. The trunk is decorative and serves a number of functions. It came unfinished and I chose to paint it a matte black.”

Tell us about the mirrored window panes in the French doors.
“We custom ordered the French Doors with mirrors instead of glass. They can be found in most any size, single or multiple doors as well. Having the mirrors on both sides allows them to show well when open or closed to either room. Our window and door vendor, Custom View can order these for you. The glass door knobs were added to compliment the glass cabinet knobs in the office as well as the adjacent living room.”

The custom built-ins are gorgeous! Did you design those yourself? What made you choose the dark gray color? It works so well.
“We did. We are a dealer for Bremtown Fine Cabinetry and we can customize cabinets to any paint color desirable. We have been wanting to do dark grey for a while so when this project came up we decided it was the perfect place for them.”
Love the yellow elephant. Where did he come from? “Ollie the fun glossy elephant came from Mahzerandvee on Etsy.”
