Three years ago I received a magnificent orchid for Mother's Day from my husband. I have always loved the exotic feel of orchids and I placed it in our bay window in the kitchen to enjoy. I have to say, three years later, there are more blooms on it than ever. I currently possess numerous orchids in the kitchen bay window and playfully refer to myself as the 'orchid whisperer' of sorts.

In the back of my mind, I've been thinking about painting a scene in my kitchen that makes me smile while I sip my coffee in the morning. The bay window, orchids in bloom, Mediterranean-style kitchen towels, and other random kitchen treasures are all part of the plan. A mini orchid delicately arranged in a coffee mug sparked the inspiration for a painting, marking the inception of my still life kitchen series. More coming soon!
